News about the Marilyn Mason Young Musician’s Scholarship Program
The Ann Arbor Chapter of the American Guild of Organists established a scholarship in 2008 in honor of now Emerita Professor Marilyn Mason on the occasion of her 60th year on the faculty of the University of Michigan.
The winner of the 2015 Marilyn Mason Young Musician’s Scholarship is Sean Henry Moss of Rochester Hills, a pupil of Dr. William Jean Randall.
This year the congregation of Emmanuel United Church of Christ in Manchester has provided an additional $400 to The Marilyn Mason Young Musician’s Scholarship Program in honor of the long tenure and faithful service of their organist Susan Goodson, a member of the Ann Arbor Chapter AGO. The award will be shared equally by Emily Wheeler, who will be a pupil this fall of Dr. Michael Burkhardt and Maks Jurasek, a pupil of Dr. Naki Sung Kripfgans. Maks and Emily shared the 2014 Marilyn Mason Young Musican’s Scholarship to our POEA.
Our student scholarship recipients will attend the POE at Valparaiso, Indiana this summer.
